It has not been officially announced how many episodes will be in Lucifer season 6, but it may have already been quietly spilled, and by Tom Ellis himself.

In a recent interview with The Wrap, Tom Ellis, who portrays Lucifer Morningstar in Netflix’s most popular series, Lucifer, chatted about how crazy it’s been to go from believing you’re working on the final season to learning the show has been renewed for another season.

Ellis describes the experience as running a marathon and being so close to the finish line, only to be told that the track keeps going a little further. Of course, not that he is complaining! Ellis has truly enjoyed playing Lucifer and working with the cast and crew.

How many episodes will be in Lucifer season 6?

Tom Ellis continues to share what it’s been like and how grateful he is for more episodes. About season 5, he shares, “it was only going to be 10 episodes, but then it was 16, and then they split in in half.”

We hear you, Ellis! Lucifans have been through quite the rollercoaster of emotions!

Lucifer season 5, part 1 is now streaming on Netflix, part 2 is expected sometime early 2021. But we don’t know much about season 6, yet!

Ellis teases that he’s had Zoom meetings with the writers, who have shared with him an outline of season 6. He doesn’t go on about any details, unfortunately, but here’s where it gets interesting.

The source notes that there’s “enough story to tell throughout a 10-episode final season.”

Does this mean Lucifer season 6 will be 10 episodes long?

Ellis finishes with,”There’s now 10 episodes of another story that then ties in and comes back to where we were going to finish it. That’s what I can tell you.”

Well, that’s all we need to know, for now!

What do you think? Does this pretty much confirm that Lucifer season 6 will be a 10-episode final season? I would wait to get an official confirmation, but Tom Ellis is a reliable source. We’ll soon learn more!
