Both seasons of Cobra Kai will be available to stream on Netflix tonight

Cobra Kai seasons 1 and 2 originally aired on YouTube Premium. Now they’re coming to Netflix.

You’ll be able to stream both seasons of the dramedy on Netflix tonight. They’ll drop at 3:01 a.m. ET, which means you’re only waiting until midnight on the west coast. All 20 episodes (10 episodes per season) will drop at once.

While the third season has been confirmed by the streamer, it’s not dropping with the first two seasons. The third season was set to premiere in 2020 when it was on YouTube Premium. Once Netflix took it over, the release date was pushed to 2021. It’s going to be worth the wait, though!

What is Cobra Kai about?

The series is a revival of The Karate Kid movies. At least, of sorts. It picks up 34 years after the infamous 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament.

Johnny Lawrence wants redemption, and to get that, he decides to reopen the Cobra Kai dojo. Of course, it reignites the high school rivalry with Daniel LaRusso, who is running his own successful business. It’s not a dojo, though.

We catch up with where the main characters are, which shows that high school isn’t where you’ll be in the future. However, it also offers a look at redemption. Just because you were a bully in the past doesn’t mean you have to stay that way, but you need to be willing to work to change a few things in the future.

The show also focuses on that inability some people have of moving on from the past. Daniel and Johnny are still in the town they grew up in. That rivalry is still there. Can they ever move forward from it?

Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprise their roles from The Karate Kid movies. Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, and Mary Mouser also star.
