Now, we’re waiting for Lucifer season 5, part 2 to be released

Even though Lucifans appreciate good work no matter how long it takes, you can’t blame us for being a little impatient. So we have to ask, why the long wait for the rest of Lucifer season 5?

Lucifer has been through so many changes, cancelations, renewals, you name it! Bottom line is, it’s thanks to fans that the series is still around and has more season 5 episodes and a sixth season to go!

We’ve come a long way, Lucifans, and now we wait for more! On Aug. 21, Lucifer season 5 premiered, but we only saw eight of the16 episodes. When are the rest coming and what’s the holdup?

Why do we have to wait for more Lucifer season 5 episodes?

Sit back, Lucifans, we are in for a wait that’ll last a few months. Why? That’s how it usually works when a season is split into two parts.

Initially, Lucifer season 5 was meant to be a 10-episode final season. Later, and thanks to fan uproar, the season was extended to 16 episodes and split into two parts. Part 1 would hold the first eight episodes and part 2 the last eight episodes of the series. Then, the show was renewed for season 6.

On the bright side, this gives us more to look forward to and allows us to have Lucifer a little longer. After part 2, there’s still season 6, the final season.

We’re not ready for the series to come to an end, but we at least have plenty more episodes and a lot of time to speculate what’s to come!

As far as when Lucifer season 5, part 2 will premiere, we’re not sure! An official release date has not been announced, but our guess is early 2021. A more specific guess is February 2021. This is because there are typically six months between seasons that are divided into two parts.

That should give the crew and creative teams enough time to finish filming on the episodes from Part 2 (if they weren’t finished) and put the season together in post-production.
