It’s been a great year so far for good Netflix shows. We’ve seen some incredible new and returning shows, and there are still a few months left in the year!

Unfortunately, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows at Netflix. There are some pretty good Netflix shows that were canceled this year when they should have been.

We shared a list of five canceled Netflix shows that should have been renewed for another season at Netflix this year.

Canceled Netflix shows: 1. The Society

The Society was just canceled at Netflix in August 2020.

Most fans paying attention were very confused because The Society was supposed to be renewed for season 2. In fact, it actually WAS renewed for season 2, and Netflix pulled the plug on the show before production started. Obviously, that makes it that much harder for fans of the series to swallow.

The Society season 2 was supposed to be released on Netflix this year. Because of delays and the pandemic, production had yet to start on the new season.

The Society is one of the first Netflix shows to get the ax specifically because of the coronavirus, according to Deadline. We don’t know exactly why it happened, but I’m guessing it means that the cost to implement testing and other safety measures was going to outweigh the benefit of releasing season 2 for Netflix.

We’re sorry, The Society fans! This really stinks, especially considering the show has ended with a cliffhanger.
