Ah, ’80s movies. The bigger the hair, the bigger the hit. Films made in the 1980s definitely have a certain tone and look to them that are indicative of the times, but that’s what makes them so great!

Watching ’80s movies takes you back to a different era, one that now only exists in memory, and some of the most iconic films came out of the decade. Thankfully, Netflix has a bunch of great options for ’80s movies that you can stream tonight.

If you’re feeling nostalgic, here is a list of the best ’80s movies on Netflix right now.

1. Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

Don’t get me wrong, Harrison Ford was great as Han Solo, but the Indiana Jones film series hits differently. Indiana Jones is the ultimate adventurer and his rugged safari look is iconic. Despite his phobia of snakes, Indy was always fearless in the face of adversity.

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark is my favorite movie in the franchise, but fear not! Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull are also on Netflix.

2. The Karate Kid

The Karate Kid was one of the highest-grossing films of 1984 and it subsequently became a cult classic. The movie stars Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and Pat Morita as Mr. Miyagi. T

he Karate Kid received universal acclaim from critics, many of whom praised the action sequences, writing, acting, and music.

3. Tootsie

Tootsie is Dustin Hoffman at his best. He plays a high-strung actor named Michael Dorsey. While he is talented, no one will work with him due to his perfectionist attitude. In a desperate attempt to get a job, he impersonates a woman, auditioning as “Dorothy Michaels,” and gets the part.

When his character becomes a national sensation, Michael must keep up the charade or risk losing his newfound popularity. There are a ton of pop culture references to Tootsie in modern movies and television series, so watching it might help you notice things you never have before!

4. Spaceballs

Spaceballs is a parody of the original Star Wars trilogy. Although it was initially met with lukewarm reviews, it has subsequently become a cult classic. Sci-fi fans can’t help but love the out-of-this-world comedy!

5. The NeverEnding Story

Based on the 1979 novel The Neverending Story by Michael Ende, this German fantasy film was the most expensive film produced outside the United States or the Soviet Union at the time of its release.

The NeverEnding Story chronicles the tale of a boy who reads a magical book that tells of a young warrior who is given the task of stopping the Nothing, a dark force, from engulfing the wonderland world of Fantasia.

6. The Evil Dead

This supernatural horror film focuses on five college students who find an audiotape that, when played, releases a legion of demons and spirits. With demons running rampant, the only unpossessed member of the group must fight to survive the resulting violence.

7. Clash of the Titans

Clash of the Titans is loosely based on the Greek myth of Perseus. It stars Harry Hamlin, Judi Bowker, Burgess Meredith, Maggie Smith, and Laurence Olivier. A 3D remake of the film was released in 2010, but you might as well check out the original!

8. Child’s Play

Child’s Play has the distinct honor of being the first installment to feature the character Chucky, a notorious serial killer stuck in the body of an ordinary-looking doll. When a widowed mother gives her son the doll for his birthday, chaos ensues. If you are a fan of horror movies, you’ve got to see Child’s Play!

9. Bloodsport

Bloodsport is a martial arts action film that tells the story of U.S. Army Captain Frank Dux. Trained in the art of ninjutsu, the movie follows Dux’s journey to Kumite, an illegal martial arts tournament in Hong Kong. Bloodsport is Jean-Claude Van Damme’s first starring film role.

10. The Naked Gun

Officially billed as The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!, this movie features fast-paced slapstick comedy, as well as many visual and verbal gags. The film stars Leslie Nielsen as bumbling police lieutenant Frank Drebin, alongside Priscilla Presley, Ricardo Montalbán, George Kennedy, and O. J. Simpson in supporting roles.

The film has two sequels, The Naked Gun 2 1⁄2: The Smell of Fear and Naked Gun 33 1⁄3: The Final Insult.
