Ah, the long movie. How “important”. How time-consuming. How absolutely daunting. We shared the list of the five best long Netflix movies available to stream right now.

I can’t be the only one who checks the runtime of something and put it off after seeing that it’s longer than, say, two hours. Granted, a lot of my favorite movies are super long (including some on this very list), and for good reason – the storytelling frequently demands it.

But sometimes, I’m just not in the mood. Maybe it’s my busy schedule, or maybe it’s the millennial short-term attention span DNA in me, or maybe it’s my frustration at the ironic situation that I know I’ll need to pay fuller attention to a longer drama and not nearly as much attention to a shorter comedy. Whatever the case, it can be more appealing to queue up a regular-sized film (1h30-2h) than anticipate reveling in the andante goodness of a 2h30+ long movie.

Lucky for us, circumstances nowadays are what they are, and we have little to no excuse to not screen longer content.
