With all the makings of a teen slumber party pick, the film is all the talk on the internet. Fans seem to be in agreement they want more, with many on Twitter demanding a sequel. While it may be some time before we get a part two, here’s five similar films you can watch in the meantime.
1. Feel The Beat
At its core, Work It is a movie about dance, and Feel The Beat follows a similar theme. The movie tells the story of April, who returns to her hometown after a failed dance career and is recruited to train a group of misfit dancers. Released just two months before Work It, it’s been another one of the summer’s biggest releases on Netflix.
2. Tall Girl
Tall Girl has very little to do with dance, but it just so happens to be another one of Sabrina Carpenter’s biggest films. If you loved her quirky personality in Work It, you’ll surely love her shining personality in her 2019 Netflix original flick.
3. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before is the ultimate feel-good rom-com, as is its sequel, To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You. Much like Work It, it’s an easy watch that will keep you captivated from start to finish. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that Noah Centineo, a central figure in the film, is so darn easy on the eyes.
4. Reality High
Reality High draws a lot of parallels to Work It in the way it highlights the struggles of fitting into a high school social circle. In a digital age, the battle is tougher than ever, and this movie showcases just how messy it can get.
5. The Kissing Booth 2
The Kissing Booth 2 is a lighthearted teen rom-com for the ages. In the sequel to its 2018 counterpart, Elle heads back to high school for her senior year. But as she prepares for college, the transition into adulthood doesn’t come easy.
