Watch Sabrina Carpenter in Work It, dropping on Netflix tonight

First, it was To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and next it was Kissing Booth. Now the same studio is bringing Work It, a YA dance-themed rom-com.

You’ll be able to watch the Sabrina Carpenter movie tonight from 3:01 a.m. ET on Friday, Aug. 7. That’s 12:01 a.m. PT. There really isn’t that long to wait.

If you love the likes of Bring It On and Step Up, this is going to be a movie for you. It’s also a dance version of Pitch Perfect. It’s all about the underdogs, and we all love the underdog storylines even if they aren’t exactly realistic.

What to expect on Work It

Carpenter plays Quinn Ackerman, who realizes that if she wants to get into the best schools then she’s going to need to do more extracurricular activities. The more she does, the better chance she has of getting into the top schools.

One of the top activities at her school is the dance squad. This team is unbeaten at a dance competition, but there’s one huge problem. Quinn can’t dance. The team isn’t going to let just anyone join.

So, Quinn decides to form her own dance squad. Teamed with her friend, played by Liza Koshy, she puts together one of the most random teams going. They look like nothing individually, but when they’re put together as a team, they could become superstars.

What about a choreography? To All the Boys‘s Jordan Fisher is the person to turn to for that. Of course, this is where the rom-com element comes in. It shouldn’t be surprising to find out our female lead has some feelings for the choreographer of her choice. There’s another relationship blossoming elsewhere in the movie.

If this becomes a success like To All the Boys and Kissing Booth, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear about a sequel in the works.

Work It is on Netflix tonight, Friday, Aug. 7.
