Riverdale, The Flash among Warner Bros series on track to resume production in late August 2020
The Flash, Riverdale and some of our favorite CW dramas are inching one step closer towards being able to resume production.
According to Deadline, Warner Bros. TV is currently hoping to resume production on a number of its Vancouver-based series within the final week of August, meaning shows such as Riverdale could very well begin production on their upcoming season as early as August 20.
At this time, it seems The Flash, Riverdale and the latest offshoot Superman & Lois are at the top of the priority list and all seem to be eyeing August production dates — or at least the three shows are currently the only titles Deadline has confirmed are eyeing August production starts. The studio is also expected to begin production on the final episodes of Supernatural season 15 in August, as The CW looks to complete the episodes in time for fall 2020.
So what exactly does this mean for the upcoming seasons of Riverdale, The Flash and other CW dramas?
As Deadline reports, an August 20-27 production start is planned for the various shows with the first step in the process being for talent to be flown into Vancouver to begin the mandatory two-week quarantine period.
Once given the all-clear, and only after the quarantine period, cast members would be able to get back on set and start shooting new materials for the first time since production was forced to shut down earlier this year. Depending on when the casts of the various Warner Bros. series arrive, filming could begin as early as the first weekend of September.
Currently, the plan seems to be for the new seasons of Riverdale, The Flash and The CW’s various other new and returning series to return in early 2021. Here’s hoping things going according to plans so that The CW is able to maintain its current scheduling plans and therefore prevent any further delays.
