7 reasons The Umbrella Academy season 2 is the Netflix show of July

The Umbrella Academy season 2 is about to drop on Netflix on July 31, and it’s easily the must-watch show of July, possibly the must-watch show of 2020.

Why? Well, there are seven reasons this show is going to be the biggest shows of the month.

To be honest, there are more than seven reasons. We just don’t have enough time to go through every single reason. By the time we finished, The Umbrella Academy season 3 would be about to drop.

Let’s get to the list!

1. There’s something for everyone in The Umbrella Academy season 2

There is so much going on that there is something for everyone. From the amazing characters to the ever-changing plot, time travel, impending apocalypse, homicidal milkmen, superhero powers, dysfunctional family drama, and more.

2. The Music

How many of you ended up downloading or saving the playlist from season 1? I certainly did, and I still have it saved as one of my favorite playlists on Spotify. There is going to be more great music featured in The Umbrella Academy season 2. If you haven’t seen the official trailer yet, make sure you do. It gives an idea of what is coming.

3. Familial Dysfunction

We already knew our favorite family of superheroes was already dysfunctional, not a huge surprise when you view their upbringing. It looks like the dysfunction has only gotten worse, which means more joy for us!

From the small snippets we’ve seen of the new season, Klaus and Ben are continually having a go at each other. Diego and Allison are clearly still the best of friends as well.

4. The Commission

The Commission is obviously the big bad of the franchise. Last season, we were introduced to two of their henchmen, Hazel and Cha-Cha. The two assassins wore brightly colored, cartoon-style, bobble head like masks. They were certainly something unlike anything any other show had introduced before and they captured our attention pretty quick, making The Umbrella Academy stand out among the many Netflix shows.

Alas, they were both killed off at the end of the first season. This does not mean we don’t have any new assassins this season. The Commission has certainly not gone away, and they are still hell-bent on keeping the space-time continuum as it is. To carry out their bidding this time, it looks like we have homicidal milkman and vacuum cleaner salespeople doing the shooting. Another weird, yet brilliant, idea.

5. Klaus

Season 1 was filled with so many funny moments, mainly from Klaus. But, everyone else had their moments as well. Klaus looks to be the one bringing the laughs again in season 2. I wouldn’t rule out anyone else, though. Expect to be holding your sides with laughter on more than one occasion this season.

6. Answers about the past

As we watched events play out in season 1, one thing that became painfully obvious was Sir Reginald Hargreaves had been playing the long game and there was much more to the man than what his family had realized. We didn’t get any answers to many of these mysteries by the time the season came to an end, but I’m guessing more answers are potentially on the way.

It only happens for a brief moment, but there are glimpses of Sir Reginald Hargreaves and Mr. Pogo in the trailer. With the time period set in the past before he adopts the kids, we might get answers to the questions we encountered in season 1.

7. Story Reset

We’re going back in time, and by the looks of things, everyone is spread out in different locations across the world, or at the very least, they are spread out across America. This means we’re going on an adventure again. A refreshing start to a new season rather than the same locations being used from season 1.

The Umbrella Academy season 2 drops on Netflix on July 31. Make sure you check it out the moment it arrives. You will not be disappointed. It truly is the must-watch Netflix show of July.
