Stranger Things star Joe Keery’s new movie SPREE has just released a trailer, and it is one wild ride.

Fans of Keery are probably excited to see him starring in the new movie. But, if fans are thinking he will be anything like the mild-mannered hero Steve Harrington, who he plays in Stranger Things, think again.

In the movie, Keery plays Kurt Kunkle, who is a rideshare driver with a plan to take his adventures viral on social media, and he will do it at any cost.

Mischa Barton, Sasheer Zamata, John DeLuca, Josh Ovalle, Lala Kent, Frankie Grande with Kyle Mooney, and David Arquette, who plays Keery’s dad, star in the movie alongside Keery.

The film will be released in theaters and on-demand on Friday, Aug. 14.

Now, Kunkle isn’t an influencer and doesn’t promote a product we can’t live without, and he is no Tik Tok sensation or anything else that you have seen go viral. Kurt, who has no followers, tries to get content from his fares at his rideshare job for Spree. When that fails, he decides to push the envelope and do anything to achieve his goal.

Kunkle, desperately seeking fame and fortune via the internet, becomes a serial killer who is energized by comments and followers of his social media accounts. He is hyped up on caffeine or perhaps something more substantial, and takes the movie viewer on a wild ride.

Wow! Right? This looks intense and wild, and the exact opposite of anything Steve Harrington would do.

Kurtsworld96 is the handle for Kunkle’s social media presence. And, in a genius marketing twist, he has a real presence on Instagram. You must check out his social media page.

The film is classified as a satirical horror film, and the filming looks like footage you would see when viewing someone’s Instagram LIVE feed. That alone could make some people nauseous. It looks to be a wild, weird ride, and this writer is here for it!
