10 Netflix shows NBA players should watch while in the bubble

We picked 10 Netflix shows that NBA players need to watch as the NBA Season is set to resume in Orlando in less than 15 days. As most of you know, the season came to a stoppage due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The only logical way for the season to resume as safe as possible, the NBA created a bubble type atmosphere down in Orlando for the players, staff, and NBA officials.

Players are so busy during the season between games, recovery, practice, and spending time with family, that they miss great TV shows that are released. But now that they’re in the bubble, they have a little more time on their hands.

What better way to spend that extra time than binge-watching a new show or two on Netflix.

Here are 10 shows players should watch on Netflix while in the bubble!

10. Last Chance U

Last Chance U is a Netflix original docuseries that follows several different JUCO football programs throughout their college season. The JUCO program is known for giving players a second chance shot at signing to a major D1 college program after troubles they may have faced before.

This docuseries shows the grit and hard work these players put into making their life dreams of playing professional football come true. As of now, there are 4 seasons available to watch with the fifth and final season releasing on July 28, 2020.

9. The People v. OJ Simpson

We all know the story about OJ Simpson. Well, this mini-series will have you walking away with your jaw on the ground and mind racing at 100 mph.

The People v. OJ Simpson not only touches on the night of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman but it really focuses on the trial of the century as many would say. It shows behind the scenes of what the lawyers went through and what OJ did leading up to the trail. This series doesn’t lean towards guilty or innocent; it leaves you there to make that decision yourself.

This is one of my favorite mini-series that has been released and it’s available right now on Netflix!

8. Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez

One of the most talked-about documentaries to release this year, Killer Inside: The Mind Aaron Hernandez, was one of the first big Netflix projects that dropped in 2020 and it didn’t disappoint.

During the docuseries, it talks about the rise and fall of former NFL superstar Aaron Hernandez who was found guilty of murder and ended up taking his own life while in prison. The series talks about the mental state he was in and what could’ve driven him to commit such a hateful act.

7. 13th

We are in a perfect time in America where this film should touch the hearts of everybody.

13th, which is titled after the 13th amendment, is a documentary directed by Ava DuVernay and it analyzes the criminalization of African Americans and the U.S. prison boom. After watching this documentary, it opened many people’s eyes including my own.

Ava DuVernay is known for her brilliant writing and directing and she delivers with this masterpiece making it a must-watch!

6. Locke & Key

I was shocked by just how good Locke & Key was. Released this year, Locke & Key quickly became one of Netflix’s premiere shows. The show is about a family who moves to a new house called Keyhouse after their father was murdered back in their hometown. The Locke family quickly realizes that their new estate holds secrets and special keys that are desired from evil people. This is a must-watch.

So binge-watch season one and get ready for season two of Locke & Key to release in the near future!

5. Breaking Bad

Many consider Breaking Bad to be the best show of all time and there’s not much to argue about that. Break Bad makes the list because I’m shocked and how many people haven’t seen this gem of a TV show.

Breaking Bad is about a science teacher named Walter White who is dying lung cancer and decides to make a decision that could destroy his life but if you’re already in stage 4 lung cancer, what do you have to lose. Walter doesn’t want his family to struggle once he dies so he decides to put his scientific knowledge to work and he starts to cook meth and sell it.

Of course, things don’t go as smoothly as he imagined it would go, and to find out what happens, you have to give this so a chance. You won’t regret it!

4. When They See Us

When They See Us is a miniseries written and directed by the great Ava DuVernay and is a must-watch. This miniseries goes into detail about the Central Park rape and assault back in 1989 and shows just how unfair the justice system is against African Americans. It will take your emotions on a rollercoaster the entire time you’re watching it but sheds light on important information about our judicial system.

I’m sure many people have already seen this great miniseries but if you haven’t, I can’t express to you just how good this is!

3. Ozark

One of my favorite shows on Netflix, Ozark comes in at number 3 on my list.

Ozark, starring Jason Bateman, is a show that is about a man who is into money laundering and has to relocate his family to the Ozarks after getting neck-deep into trouble that is barely got out of. The Byrde family find themselves in a dark place once they arrive in the Ozarks and things start to spiral out of control.

I highly recommend giving Ozark a watch!

2. All American

Talk about a gem of shows! All American has become one of America’s favorite TV Shows and you can stream it right now on Netflix.

All American is about a high school football player who lives in Crenshaw, California playing football at his local high school. Superior talent to anybody that touches the same field as him, Spencer James is approached by the High School coach from Beverly Hills that offers him a transfer.

Once at Beverly high, Spencer faces all the trials and tribulations on and off the field any one person can take.

1. Stranger Things

Take a dive back into the 80s with the Netflix Original series Stranger Things. The most popular show on Netflix since it was released back in 2016, makes it number one on my list for must-watch. When a young boy in Hawkins, Indiana goes missing, his friends along with a young girl who has supernatural powers fight off government officials to help find his location.

But the crooked government at Hawkins Lab isn’t the only thing these kids have to worry about as something creepy lurks in the upside down.

We know one person who has seen Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things and that’s because he’s a huge fan of the show! LeBron James has made it public on several occasions how big of a fan he is of the show. This is a must-watch and we promise you won’t regret it.
