Disney Plus August 2020 releases confirmed, less than 30 new titles coming

Disney Plus has revealed its list of new titles arriving in August 2020, and let’s just say it’s going to be a quiet month with less than 30 new additions debuting over the month. Although August is primed to be a perhaps slower month when it comes to the arrival of new content, that’s not to say there aren’t plenty of things to look forward to across the span of the month!

Of course, the month’s biggest allure is the arrival of The One and Only Ivan which features quite the impressive voice cast featuring the likes of Sam Rockwell, Angelina Jolie, Helen Mirren, Danny DeVito and Chaka Khan to name a few. Originally slated to debut in theaters, The One and Only Ivan is the latest film to follow in the footsteps of Artemis Fowl and Hamilton in debuting exclusively on Disney Plus and is sure to make for a fun family movie night when it arrives mid-month.

Speaking of movies, August will continue Disney Plus’ Summer Movie Nights fun with the debut of a slew of new movies including X-Men (2000), Ant-Man and the Wasp, The Greatest Showman, Beauty and the Beast, Alice Through the Looking Glass and the new Disney Plus animated original Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe.

For those looking for something new to watch on the television side, fans can look forward to the season premiere of Weird But True! which officially moves from Nat Geo to Disney Plus for its third season. And while they might not be newly added titles, fans can also look forward to new episodes of several Disney Plus originals including Muppets Now, One Day at Disney and what appears to be the series finale of Disney Family Sundays.
