Bingeable Netflix shows: The Vampire Diaries and The Originals

Nothing beats a good vampire drama, and The Vampire Diaries delighted fans for eight seasons. Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder brought the smolder to prime time television, replacing the void left by Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Fans fell in love with Dobrev’s Elena and the love triangle between the Salvatore brothers, Stefan (Wesley) and Damon (Somerhalder). Between vampires, witches, werewolves, doppelgangers and plenty of curses, The Vampire Diaries never missed a beat. It was always embroiled in drama between the supernatural elements and the relationships that developed and either blossomed or fizzled.

Following on the footsteps of The Vampire Diaries, The Originals continues the stories of the Original vampires Niklaus, Elijah and Rebekah Mikaelson. The Mikaelsons return to their home in New Orleans to discover that the vampire Marcel has been holding court and enforcing his own rules while the witches make their own plans. Taking back the city isn’t as easy as the Mikaelsons would have hoped, and it makes for good fun.

Both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals lead into the current CW series Legacies, so once you finish with The Vampire Diaries and The Originals there’s another series to start binging. All three shows are easy to watch, easy to follow and for fans of the supernatural they offer compelling stories with all of the drama you can handle.
