You can start watching from 3:01 a.m. on Friday, July 10. Those on the west coast only need to wait until 12:01 a.m. If you’re in the UK, you’ll need to wait a little longer (sort of). The movie will be available from 8 a.m.

This is certainly going to be worth the wait. The trailer gives you just a hint of the breathtaking action to come, but there’s so much packed into this two-hour-five-minute movie.

What is The Old Guard about?

Based on the comic of the same name, The Old Guard promises to be the next superhero franchise to watch. It follows a group of superheroes—mercenaries who can heal themselves. Many of them have bene fighting since the Crusades.

However, they can eventually die. At some point, their bodies stop healing them. Nobody knows why, which is something that may or may not be figured out in this movie.

There are a few general tropes thrown into the movie for good measure. After all, it is a genre movie. The immortal beings can only be with each other. They’ve had to give up everyone they love because while their loved ones grow old, they don’t. The life of a superhero can be a lonely one.

When a new immortal is awakened, The Old Guard will need to get to her. However, someone knows their secret. Now they have to train their new addition while also protecting their identities and their abilities from the world.

Charlize Theron is certainly the biggest name in the movie, but there are some other standout stars. One of those is Chiwetel Ejiofor. Also look out for KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoneaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, and Veronica Ngo.
