Most depressing Disney movie moments: Wicked Step Mother and Sisters (Cinderella)

This was the first Disney movie I remember watching. Cinderella is another movie that starts off sad.

Cinderella’s father was dead. This left her with two terrible stepsisters and an evil stepmother. While they played and relaxed all day, Cinderella cooked, cleaned, and did whatever else they wanted her to do. When the royal ball was going to happen, she was told she could go. Cinderella finished all of her chores and her animal friends made her a dress. It looked like all was well. Just as Cinderella was getting ready to leave, her stepsisters ripped her dress apart and left her crying in the house.

The Positive:

Had Cinderella gone with her family she may not have met the prince and gotten married. They would have filled her head with doubts and she wouldn’t have had a good time. She probably would’ve sulked in the corner. Instead, she got a better dress, rode to the royal ball in style, and ended up meeting and dancing with the prince.

What’s even better is that her family had to watch as the woman they mistreated was whisked away to live in luxury. Cinderella may not be petty, but we’re all certainly laughing at the wicked stepmother and sisters.
