Netflix knows we love a good throwback, so what’s better to flesh out July’s crop of new release movies and shows than one of the all-time best throwback movies around? While the list of new releases will have a handful of nostalgic titles for everyone, one of the newest to the Netflix fold is The Witches, which was based on Roald Dahl’s children’s novel of the same name. Anjelica Huston stars as the Grand High Witch, who plots to turn all children into mice and tests the magical formula on young eavesdropper Luke (Jasen Fisher).

The Witches comes from director Nicolas Roeg and received universally positive reception from critics upon release, holding a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite its good reviews, The Witches struggled at the box office, bringing in only $15.3 million. Nonetheless, a remake of the film and a new adaptation of the book starring Anne Hathaway and directed by Robert Zemeckis will hit theaters next year. Until the remake arrives, it’s time for those who haven’t seen the original to stream it on Netflix, and those who love it to watch it a million more times.
