One of the best treats Netflix offers its viewers each month is exclusive stand-up comedy specials. Obviously, the world could use some laughs and levity right now, care of some of the top comedians in the game. This July, the streamer introduces the American audience to a comedian with whom they may not be super familiar.

South African-New Zealand comedian Urzila Carlson comes to Netflix with her first special, Overqualified Loser. With a unique and hilarious point of view, Carlson pokes fun at relatable everyday experiences. But the question is: Who is the overqualified loser?

Urzila Carlson: Overqualified Loser precedes the month’s additional stand-up comedy special, Jack Whitehall: I’m Only Joking, which bows on July 21. Carlson makes her Netflix comedy special debut and follows her 2019 appearance on the platform’s Comedians of the World.

It’s refreshing to see a fresh voice in comedy land a coveted summer special to intermingle with the long list of comedy veterans finding a new home at Netflix.
