You can watch the new Netflix original Warrior Nun tonight

Are you ready for a new fantasy series? How about something that feels like a cross between Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Wynonna Earp? That’s what you’ll get with Warrior Nun on Netflix tonight.

The series will drop at 3:01 a.m. ET on Thursday, July 2. That means those on the west coast will get to binge-watch at 12:01 a.m. If you’re in the UK, you’re waiting until 8 a.m., but it’s sure to be worth the wait.

The good news is that all episodes will be available at once. There are 10 episodes to binge-watch, all at about an hour long.

What you need to know about Warrior Nun

Based on the comic series by Simon Berry, Warrior Nun will follow Ava, a 19-year-old woman who dies and is brought back to life with a divine artifact embedded in her back. She is now part of an ancient order that protects Earth from demons.

She’s the most powerful being known, which means she’s wanted by both Heaven and Hell. Of course, there are questions about how she can be such a powerful being considering she doesn’t even believe in God. Now everyone will need to protect her from the people of Heaven and Hell who want to control her.

All 10 episode titles are various chapters and verses in the Bible. This makes sense considering the order is a religious order. There are chances that the episodes will connect in some way to those verses and chapters.

Alba Baptista plays Ava, with Tristan Ulloa as Father Vincent, Sylvia De Fanti as Mother Superion, Lorena Andrea as Sister Lilith, and Toya Turner as Shotgun Mary.

There are certainly elements of this series that feel like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Wynonna Earp. Other elements will feel like Supernatural and even Amazon Prime Video’s Hunters. It’s definitely not one you’re going to want to miss.
