Never Have I Ever season 2 is officially happening at Netflix!

According to a report from Deadline, Netflix renewed Mindy Kaling’s original series for season 2 and announced the news on Twitter via the Never Have I Ever account.

Star of the series, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who now has bangs, shared the news with the cast in a Zoom call. Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, Jaren Lewison, Darren Barnet, Ramona Young, and Lee Rodriguez star in the series. John McEnroe is the narrator.

According to the report, Never Have I Ever season 2 will be 10 episodes, like the first season.

It’s great to see this series get another season at Netflix. Based on the response to the show and the likely millions of viewers watching around the world, I don’t think there was much doubt this show would be renewed for season 2.

Netflix hasn’t been announcing many renewals lately, likely because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the production shutdown, which has grounded production around the world for the next month or two, most likely.

The first season premiered on Netflix in April 2020, and it was a huge success! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for season 2.

Never Have I Ever season 2 release date

Normally, we wouldn’t have to wait too long for season 2 of a show like this. There aren’t many major production challenges or anything like that. It all just comes down to timing of production and giving the writers enough time to craft the story and then film the series.

Unfortunately, the problem is with the filming. We don’t know when the series will be able to start production on the second season.

If Never Have I Ever can start production on season 2 sometime this fall, we could see season 2 on Netflix in the spring of 2021. We just don’t know how likely that is at this point.

With our release date predictions lately, we’ve been a little more conservative. I think there’s a good chance that these shows that are getting renewed now will have a tough time getting the next season turned around in 2021. There’s a chance we could see Never Have I Ever season 2 in the summer or fall of 2021, but that’s going to depend on how things go with the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States.

It’s possible we might not see Never Have I Ever season 2 until early 2022, but again, that just depends on many, many factors.
