Summer Movie Nights on Disney Plus starts with Hamilton on July 3

Gather the family, pop some popcorn, and settle in for at least one new movie each Friday night on Disney Plus. Summer Movie Nights kicks off on July 3 and runs through the summer until Sept. 4.

Disney Plus is bringing out all the great movies for their Summer Movie Nights, starting off with the long-awaited Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton as well as The Mighty Ducks on July 3.

Hamilton is a musical that has received the highest honors and a huge fan base.  It teaches us some valuable history in a uniquely memorable way. Using R&B, pop, soul, Hip-Hop, as well as traditional musical to tell this tale in American history. And, what a genius marketing plan to release this on Independence Day weekend.

The Mighty Ducks is an underdog story starring Emilio Estevez. This 1992 film stars Estevez as a defense attorney who is sentenced to serve community service for driving drunk. He is instructed to coach a pee-wee team of hockey players. It is an excellent family movie with some great lessons that can be learned.

Disney Plus released a great promo video introducing the fantastic line up of films.

As you can see from the promo, the summer series features many family favorites, like Incredibles 2, and Beauty and the Beast. There are action movies, Xmen, Solo, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Also included in the line-up is the classic The Peanuts Movie.
