Lucifer making amends with his father

A series-long struggle for Lucifer has been the tension between him and his father. Lucifer has been on an amazing journey toward healing and self-acceptance. We especially saw that in season 4 when he finally admitted to Linda that he hates himself.

A lot of his inner demons stem from his relationship with his father. Now that God is going to be making an appearance this season, I really hope they can make amends. Though we haven’t seen him yet, Lucifer and God’s relationship has been central to the story and who Lucifer is as a character.

There’s going to be a family dinner scene, most likely in episode 9, which is appropriately called “Family Dinner.” Henderson didn’t say which characters will be part of the dinner scene, but he did mention that it will involve five actors from the show. It’s pretty easy to speculate that two of them will probably be Lucifer and his father.

It’s also the longest single scene to air on the show at 11 minutes and 27 seconds. Plenty of time for them to hash things out. This might be the chance for them to talk about their issues and for Lucifer to really understand his father’s intentions while finally getting everything off his chest.

Their confrontation and reconciliation is something we’ve all longed to see. And with God being mentioned so many times but never actually seeing him, it’s about time.

This is one of the most exciting aspects for me going into the new season. It’ll be so fun to see the show’s take on God and what his character will be like.
