You star Chris D’Elia is accused of sexually harassing underage girls

Chris D’Elia, who recently starred in the second season of the Netflix original series, You, has been accused of sexual harassment by multiple underage girls.

According to a report from Decider, Simone Rossi posted screenshots of messages she claims were from D’Elia on Twitter. At the time the messages were sent, Rossi was only 16 years old.

Since Rossi shared her story on Twitter late Wednesday night, many others have come forward to share their stories about interactions with the comedian and You star, according to the report. A Twitter account with the handle @SheRatesDogs is posting screenshots of messages allegedly sent by D’Elia to other underage girls and young women who wish to remain anonymous.

In You season 2, D’Elia played Henderson, a popular comedian who is a pedophile. Joe Goldberg kills Henderson after the comedian drugs Ellie, Joe’s neighbor who is a teenager.

While You is coming back for season 3 on Netflix and was in the works prior to the coronavirus shutdown, as far as we know, D’Elia was not going to be involved at all with the new season, which is likely coming to Netflix at the end of 2020, because his character was killed off.

Decider also reported Netflix has not commented on the sexual harassment allegations. D’Elia has also made three stand-up comedy specials for Netflix, including Incorrigible, Man on Fire, and No Pain, which was just released in April 2020.

D’Elia addressed the allegations, via Deadline:

"“I know I have said and done things that might have offended people during my career, but I have never knowingly pursued any underage women at any point,” D’Elia said in a statement obtained by Deadline. “All of my relationships have been both legal and consensual and I have never met or exchanged any inappropriate photos with the people who have tweeted about me. That being said, I really am truly sorry. I was a dumb guy who ABSOLUTELY let myself get caught up in my lifestyle. That’s MY fault. I own it. I’ve been reflecting on this for some time now and I promise I will continue to do better.”"

This is a developing story, and we’ll continue to provide updates as we learn them.
