Lucifer rumors: Ildy Modrovich responds to hilarious Tom Ellis rumor

Tom Ellis is not getting replaced by Ian Somerhalder in Lucifer
Is Tom Ellis really getting replaced by The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder in Lucifer season 6?
Of course not! According to a report from Newsweek, that’s the new Lucifer season 6 rumor making waves these days.
Lucifer showrunner Ildy Modrovich had a good laugh along with the rest of us about that Lucifer season 6 rumor floating around on social media over the last few days.
Here’s how Modrovich responded after seeing the rumor:
I know we’re all desperate for any and all Lucifer season 5 and season 6 news right now, but that is a stretch! I really hope no one actually believed it.
I don’t know where this rumor got started, but it’s one of the funniest things I’ve read in a long time. I don’t think there’s anyone who could actually replace Tom Ellis in Lucifer; he’s too good in that role. And, we KNOW there’s no way that would actually happen.
Now, I’m really hoping, when there is a season 6, that they can find a way to bring Somerhalder into the mix. I don’t know what he’s working on now after V-Wars was canceled after one season on Netflix, so hopefully, he’s available for a cameo or guest role in the next season of Lucifer.
I think we all know that season 6 is going to happen now. Originally, Netflix announced that the series would end after season 5. Then, the network ordered six more episodes of season 5, and then, they agreed to a new contract with showrunners, Modrovich and Joe Henderson, and then Ellis agreed to a new contract to return for another season.
Now, we’re just waiting for Netflix to officially confirm season 6.
We’re also waiting patiently to find out when season 5 is coming to Netflix. We’ve been expecting to see the new season sometime around May or June 2020. But, the coronavirus pandemic likely delayed the release of the new season, and now, it’s a waiting game.
We’ll let you know more information about season 5 and season 6 when we find out! Stay tuned!
