Disney Plus is adding more than 40 new movies and shows in July 2020

After a quiet June, Disney Plus has lined up an exciting month of releases for July 2020 which includes the arrival of a handful of Disney Plus exclusives, classic Disney brand films, and a variety of new television seasons to enjoy with the family.

Of course, the most talked-about new title arriving on Disney Plus in July is Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony-winning Broadway musical, Hamilton.

Originally slated to arrive in theaters sometime in 2021, Disney will instead debut the filmed version of the acclaimed Broadway production exclusively on Friday, July 3 — making it the perfect Fourth of July selection! The filmed version of the production will feature the original Broadway cast, giving many their first chance to see the talented ensemble perform the title which has become one of Broadway’s most successful productions!

Later in the month, The Muppets will make their triumphant and highly anticipated return to the small screen with the series premiere of Muppets Now. In the new unscripted series (a first for The Muppets brand) will follow Scotter as he races to meet his deadline to “upload the brand-new Muppets series for streaming.” Considering it’s been five years since The Muppets’ last television series aired, it’s exciting to see Kermit and the gang return for a new adventure.

On the Disney Plus originals front, fans can also look forward to new episodes of several hit series including Disney Family Sundays, One Day At Disney, Pixar in Real Life and the season finale of It’s A Dog’s Life with Bill Farmer.

Fans hungry for some new Star Wars content following the June finale of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian are in luck as July brings with it the Disney Plus debut of Solo: A Star Wars Story. The standalone adventure following the adventures of young Han Solo will race onto Disney Plus on July 10 where it will join the entire Star Wars Trilogy collection.

Other July highlights include The Mighty Ducks, Secrets of the Zoo season 3, Marvel Funko seasons 1 and 2, Ice Age: Collison Course and a pair of Diary of a Wimpy Kid films!
