Da 5 Bloods is one of the top 5 Netflix movies this weekend, June 13-14

If you’re looking for something to watch this weekend, Netflix is the number one place to turn. There are some excellent Netflix movies to check out right now.

To cut out the overwhelming feeling, we’ve made a list of the five movies you need to check out right now. There’s something for everyone, whether you need the latest Spike Lee movie (you definitely do) or you want something for the whole family.

Here are the top five good Netflix movies to watch this weekend:

Da 5 Bloods

We have to start with the Spike Lee movie Da 5 Bloods. It’s been one of the most talked about upcoming releases, mostly because it is Spike Lee. This is a movie with a focus on Black Vets from the Vietnam War, but it’s more than that. It’s got a lot of heart, a lot of comedy, and plenty of drama to keep you focused.

Four Vets head to Vietnam along with the son of one of the men. They go in search for the remains of their fallen Squad Leader and the gold they buried with him. What they get is a trip to the past and a chance to fight off some of their ghosts.

All Dogs Go to Heaven

If you need something for the whole family, you’ll want to turn to the 1989 animated cult classic All Dogs Go to Heaven. Charlie is a canine casino owner and killed by gambler Carface. Thanks to magic, Charlie returns to Earth from Heaven, and he heads out on a path of revenge.

Along the way, he meets Anne-Marie, a young orphan girl he takes under his wing. However, he soon learns that Anne-Marie is being exploited by Carface, changing his mission of revenge into one of rescue.

Before I Fall

Zoey Deutch stars as Samantha Kingston, who thinks she has it all. When she dies in a car crash, she ends up reliving the day over and over again. In this Groundhog Day-esque movie, Samantha needs to figure out the mystery of her derailed life and the secrets of those close to her.

What she thought was perfect was anything but. Can one day make all the difference?

Mirai

Mirai dropped on June 1, but you may have overlooked it at this point. You need to check out the anime this weekend. It’s about Kun, who feels forgotten about when his little sister Mirai is born.

Kun decides to run away from home, which is when he finds a garden that is a gateway through time. He gets the chance to go on adventures with his mother, his baby sister, and more, opening his eyes to a grand new world.

Okko’s Inn

Another anime you shouldn’t miss is Okko’s Inn. Okko heads to the countryside to live with her grandmother after the death of her parents. Her grandmother runs a traditional Japanese inn on top of healing waters, and all Okko does is her chores and get ready to be the inn’s next caretaker.

However, Okko soon realizes that there are spirits living in the inn. They’re not scary, but there to help guide her through life to prepare her for the future.
