The Woods and more Netflix shows to watch this weekend, June 13-14

There are so many good Netflix shows to watch this weekend. To help you find something to watch, we narrowed down your search with The Woods and four other great Netflix shows to watch on Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14.

Netflix is keeping us entertained with its Netflix original content. Of course, it can be a bit overwhelming to see all the new Netflix shows coming out each day.

How do you even decide what to watch? Have no fear, we will help you choose your weekend list for binge-watching.

The first three recommendations are in the thriller/crime-drama genre.

The Woods

The lastest Harlan Coban novel to be adapted by Netflix is The Woods. This is excellent news for fans of his previous adaptations, The Stranger, The Five, and Safe.

The Woods, a Netflix original series, follows a cold case involving some teens who went missing 25 years ago where only two of the bodies were ever found. One of the girls was the sister of a local prosecutor who discovers a new lead in the case, giving him hope that he will finally get some answers.

If you are a fan of Coben’s novels and the previous Netflix original series based on his books, you should check this one out.

Marcella

Marcella season 3 is coming to Netflix on Sunday, June 14.

For those who don’t know, Marcella is a former detective who returns to her job to investigate a case involving a serial killer who looks to have started killing again.

In addition to the stress of her career, there is a hectic home life to deal with, including a custody battle for her children. Up next, season 3 will delve deeper into Marcella’s struggle with mental illness.

With a new season comes a new position for Marcella. She will now be an undercover detective in Belfast.

The first two seasons are already available to watch on Netflix, so you can easily catch up and be ready for Sunday’s season 3 premiere.

The Search

The Search is a new limited series, and it is based on the chilling true story about a girl who vanishes from a suburb of Mexico City.

This is the disturbing tale of Paulette Gebara Farah, a four-year-old, who went missing from her home, and nine days later, something happened that you just couldn’t imagine. Her body was found wrapped in blankets at the foot of her bed.

This true-crime drama will leave you baffled.

Pokémon Journeys: The Series

If those shows are a little two dark, these final two shows should be more your style.

The adventures of Ash Ketchum and Pikachu continue as the 23rd season of the Pokemon animated series launches as a Netflix original, titled Pokemon Journeys: The Series.

Twelve episodes were released on Friday, June 12, and another 12 will be added every three months until the season is complete. Adventure and excitement await Ash and his new friend Goh.

There is a new theme song by the band Walk off the Earth. Head over to Netflix to start watching!

Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts

The second season of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeast is now available on Netflix. There are 10 new episodes to stream, as of June 12.

In the series, Kipo is a 13-year-old girl on a quest to find her father. The thing is her circumstances aren’t typical. She lives in an underground city and must travel through a post-apocalyptic wasteland that is overrun by mutant animals. She does make some interesting friends along the way.

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, creator Radford Sechrist said that Kipo is like “Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, but instead of ruby slippers she has converse on.”

It sounds like a fun animated series to me! You can also catch the first season on Netflix.

Hopefully, one or more of the above Netflix shows gets you through the weekend. Check back next week for more suggestions!
