Why is Lisa Kudrow’s character in Space Force in prison?
Netflix’s newest workplace comedy Space Force features a stellar cast, including Lisa Kudrow, who you will undoubtedly know as Phoebe from Friends. Her
In the series, Kudrow plays Maggie Naird, the wife of Space Force General Mark Naird, played by Steve Carell. Kudrow’s character spends most of her time in jail, but it’s never revealed what she did to end up in prison.
So, why did she end up there?
Watch out for spoilers below! If you have not watched the Netflix original series finale yet, you will want to hit the back button and come back later when you are fully caught up. Or, if you are too fussed and desperately want to know the answer, then read on.
In short, we have no idea why Kudrow’s character in Space Force is in prison? After binge-watching all the episodes.
It’s actually really annoying because this was something hidden away in the build-up to the release date of the series and was unveiled to us in the pilot episode. And since the reveal, we all asked the same question: What did she do?
As the series progressed, we got more and more clues as to why Lisa Kudrow’s character ended up where she did. We know she is in a maximum-security prison and will be at least 40, but more likely 60, years until she will be released. That means she either did a bunch of crimes to stack up that much time or she committed a pretty serious offense, like murder.
The move to Colorado from Washington was clearly not a welcoming one. Odds are that she reached her breaking point, but she’s not ina psychiatric facility, though, which must mean she didn’t have a complete breakdown.
Therefore, our best guess is at least attempted murder, but most likely murder, brought on by someone pushing her too far. Anything less would not have such a hefty sentence.
Will we find out in Space Force season 2?
Netflix still has to give the green light for Space Force season 2. If it does then at the very least, we will be sure to get more clues as to why she is in jail.
The thing is I do not think Space Force will reveal the reason why she is there. This will probably be one of those long-running jokes where the characters discuss her being in prison and drop hints at the crime she committed, but they never actually confirm it.
That’d be really interesting!
