It seems like just yesterday Rick and Morty season 4 premiered on Adult Swim, but unfortunately, we’ve officially reached the final half-hour of the season!

That’s right, this Sunday marks the season 4 finale of Adult Swim’s hit series as Rick, Morty, and the rest of the family gear up for one final adventure before season 4 comes to a close. The good news is, while season 4 is coming to an end, there is still plenty of Rick and Morty to come after the series’ massive renewal by Adult Swim — which should keep the show around for years to come.

In the series’ penultimate episode, Rick and the family embarked on what was supposed to be a simple family camping trip; however, in typical fashion, things quickly went awry with the series taking a look at Rick’s parenting skills (and ever-intriguing sex life).

This week it looks like Rick finds a way to turn the tables putting Beth and Jerry’s parenting skills to the test.

As teased by the Rick and Morty season 4 finale synopsis, “Jerry and Beth have their hands full when Summer and Morty fight over Rick’s invisibility belt.”

The fight between Summer and Morty seems to begin after Beth mentions Dr. Wong having an opening for a family therapy session. Hoping to avoid having to sit down and talk about his feelings, Rick gives his invisibility belt to Summer in an effort to anger Morty thus creating a diversion to avoid therapy.

If the name Dr. Wong sounds familiar, it’s because she’s the therapist introduced at the end of the show’s iconic season 3 episode, “Pickle Rick,” in which Rick transformed himself into a pickle. Voiced by Susan Sarandon, Dr. Wong was the therapist who attempted to help Rick confront his self-destructive tendencies in the episode.

The character’s return has led many to speculate as to whether the season 4 finale might include a callback to the fan-favorite episode or perhaps even feature a return of Pickle Rick. While there’s been no clear indication of a return of Rick’s pickle form, a sequel sequence would hands down be a memorable way to cap off what has been another incredible season.
