Tom Ellis inks new deal for Lucifer season 6

The odds of Lucifer season 6 becoming a reality just significantly increased!

After prolonged negotiations, series lead Tom Ellis is reported to have officially signed on for the potential sixth season of the hit Netflix original drama. As reported by TVLine, sources connected to the series have confirmed that Ellis has formally inked a new deal to reprise his role as Lucifer Morningstar in a potential sixth season of the show.

As fans will recall, talks of a potential sixth season hit a major snag in April when news of a contract dispute first arose. At the time, it was revealed that Ellis and Warner Bros. Television were at an impasse on the terms of the agreement with the series’ lead reportedly unhappy with the terms of the deal in place.

The news brought all talks of Lucifer season 6 to a halt as the fate of the series hung in the balance. Fortunately, it seems both parties have reached a successful agreement which seems to all but pave the way for a prospective sixth season of the series. But what exactly does the future hold for the series?

Renewed or Canceled: Is Lucifer season 6 coming to Netflix?

After a successful fourth season, the show’s first on Netflix following a three-season run on FOX, Netflix renewed Lucifer for what has been touted as a fifth and final season. Needless to say, the announcement that Lucifer season 5 would be the show’s last didn’t quite sit well with fans who were vocal in expressing a desire for more.

While it seemed the Devil would embark on his final string of adventures with season 5 serving as the show’s swan song, news broke in early February that Netflix had begun considering making Lucifer season 6 a reality.

Although at this time Netflix has yet to formally address the rumors and reports of a sixth season being in the works, all signs seem to be pointing toward Lucifer season 6 coming to fruition. With the show’s producers and cast all signed on for the potential season, all that’s left is for Netflix to make things official with a formal announcement.
