Watch these Netflix shows before All American season 3 returns in 2021

All American is one of the best and most popular teen shows on Netflix right now. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a long time to watch All American season 3 on Netflix, so we put together a short list of shows to watch while you wait.

All American season 3 has been pushed until January 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Deadline, The CW announced all of its “fall” TV shows will be bumped back to the midseason and beyond to allow this situation to, hopefully, get better and have a less strict production timeline.

Like the first two seasons, which are streaming on Netflix right now, All American season 3 will also be 16 episodes. That means the Netflix release date for season 3 will likely be sometime in the summer of 2021.

After you binge-watch those two seasons, you should watch these good Netflix shows while you wait for All American season 3!

Good Netflix to watch while you wait for All American season 3

Riverdale

Riverdale follows the lives of several teens in a small town, including Archie, Betty, Jughead and Veronica. Unfortunately, there’s always some shady business happening, including that of multiple serial killers, and mysteries to solve.

Riverdale is a far different teen series than All American, but the shows do have a few things in common: drama and football.

There are few shows as dramatic as Riverdale, and of course, Archie Andrews is a football star for the Riverdale Bulldogs.

We don’t get a lot of football in Riverdale, so if you’re a big fan of the football in All American, you might not like this series. But, if you’re all-in on All American for the drama, Riverdale is a great show to check out on the streaming service.

On My Block

On My Block is probably the most similar to All American. While All American focuses on a few transfers at a Beverly Hills high school and the problems they face, On My Block focuses on a group of friends living in a neighborhood in inner city LA.

On My Block is easily one of the best teen shows on Netflix right now, and it has been for some time. The show is expect to be renewed for a fourth season in the near future.

I think you’ll notice some similarities between All American and On My Block. While the shows are not identical, they each focus on what it’s like to grow up in different environments.

Last Chance U

If you like the football element of All American, Last Chance U is the show to watch on Netflix. The documentary series follows four community college teams in respective seasons.

The first two seasons are set at East Mississippi Community College, one of the top programs in the country for helping student athletes who could be playing at Division I and even in the NFL achieve their full potential.

The third and fourth seasons are set at Independence Community College, one of the worst programs in the country. After a new coach arrives and brings in a bunch of new and talented players, expectations for ICC start to change.

This is a must-watch docuseries for all sports fans.

Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever is a relatively new Netflix series. It was created by Mindy Kaling and Land Fisher. The series follows Devi Vishwakumar, a teenager who is dealing with the death of her father. Devi is trying to move up the social hierarchy of high school in the first season.

If you like all the high school drama in All American, Never Have I Ever is the show for you. They shows are, again, very different, but I’m sure All American fans could brighten their days with this delightful comedy.

We’re hoping Never Have I Ever is renewed for season 2 at Netflix!

Outer Banks

Outer Banks is another new Netflix original series that fans of the teen drama need to check out! The series follows a group of friends living on the Outer Banks islands who get swept up in the hunt for gold lost in a shipwreck somewhere off the coast.

As far as soapy teen dramas go, Outer Banks is one of the best I’ve seen in a while It has a great cast. And, most importantly, it has all that drama you could possibly want in a show like this.

All American is similarly dramatic, so I can see a lot of fans of The CW series liking this Netflix original. Unfortunately, there’s no sports in this series, but there is A LOT of running!

American Vandal

Let’s keep this “American” as possible with All American and American Vandal.

American Vandal is a Netflix mockumentary series that focuses on two different mysteries. In the first season, the series follows Dylan, a teen at a Southern California high school, after he was expelled from school for drawing genitalia on all the cars in the staff parking lot. Peter and Sam, two classmates and wannabe documentary filmmakers, try to prove Dylan’s innocence.

In season 2, the series heads North to a private school in Bellevue, Washington. There, someone is pulling poop-related pranks on all the students and staff. Peter and Sam are called in to investigate “The Turd Burglar.”

Daybreak

There’s only one season of Daybreak on Netflix, but it’s well worth a watch, especially if you’re into teen dramas!

After an attack on the US wipes out all adults, groups of teens in California split off into factions to survive. This story follows a band of misfits, including Josh Wheeler, Angelica, Wesley, and Eli, who make their home base in a mall while Josh tries to find his girlfriend, Sam Dean.

This is one of my favorite shows of all time. It’s so good and so much fun.

There’s also a little bit of a football angle for all of you who like that part of All American.
