5 good Netflix movies and shows to watch with man’s best friend

Whether they’re begging for food or they’re chewing up your favorite pair of shoes, dogs have been man’s best friend for thousands of years. They celebrate with us during happy times and offer comfort and support when we’re feeling down.

Do you want to go for a run or relax, kick your feet up, eat popcorn, and watch reruns of The Office? Dogs are always up for everything and anything, making them the ultimate companion.

We can confidently say that we have curated five good shows and movies for you and your canine companion to watch together. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you might even get inspired to choreograph your own dance number!

1. As Good As It Gets

This 1998 Academy Award-winning blockbuster film stars Helen Hunt, Jack Nicholson, and Greg Kinnear. The movie is an entertaining comedy-drama with an adorable Brussels Griffon terrier named Verdell that inadvertently steals the show.

As Good As It Gets is a great movie with the unlovable but eventually lovable Jack Nicholson starring as the mean-mouthed, well-to-do author Melvin Udall, the struggling single mom played by the incredible Helen Hunt, and Greg Kinnear as Melvin’s artist neighbor Simon (and owner of Verdell).

2. Arctic Dogs

Arctic Dogs is a good film to watch if you’re feeling down or just looking for a lighthearted feel-good movie. There’s an all-star cast including Anjelica Huston, Jeremy Renner, and John Cleese.

The underdog in the movie is an adorable white husky who works at a post office. He wants nothing more than to achieve Top Dog status. This movie is filled with family-friendly adventure and humor.

3. The Back to the Future Trilogy

"“Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.” -Doc Brown"

Back to the Future trilogy is the best binge-worthy movie trilogy on Netflix. It’s an iconic series that has an incredible array of characters that appear, in various versions, through all three films. From Doc Brown’s shaggy dog, Capernicus, of the 1950s to the future version Einstein. The,  you have “Mad Dog” Tannon of the 1880s to the future version Griff Tannon.

Every time you watch the Back to the Future movies you are likely to notice more nuances that connect the three films. Speaking of connect, does anyone know where I put my flux capacitor?

4. Dogs

The Dogs docuseries is a collection of heartwarming true stories celebrating incredible dogs, from an adorable little girl with epilepsy getting her first support dog to the heroic rescues of dogs in Puerto Rico by the animal sanctuary Territoria de Zaguates, and more.
