Stranger Things season 4 can’t be the final season of the Netflix series

We are all waiting to hear any type of news on when production will kick back up on Stranger Things season 4.The cast and crew were about a month into production before being shut down because of COVID-19.

While we wait on some good news, I thought it would be a good idea to share why Stranger Things season 4 will not be the final season of the series.

There have been so many rumors going around that season 4 will be the final season of the series, but that’s not necessarily the case. Most popular Netflix original series averages about 4 seasons per series. Some a little longer, some a little shorter.

Stranger Things is by far one of Netflix’s most successful shows as season 3 had over 40 million views in the first four days after its release on July 4, 2019.

Big ratings like this means big money for all parties involved. It’s hard to stop a show when it’s generating numbers, breaking records and getting bigger and bigger every season. Joe Keery already said that season 4 is by far the scariest of the entire series. Those are familiar words as we heard a lot of cast members say that exact same thing about season 3. They were right, too.

So with season 4 of Stranger Things set to be the biggest of them all, I don’t see season 4 being the last season. The numbers that they will generate will most likely break every Netflix record out there.

Fans of the series are excited to have the beloved Hopper back and alive after “dying” at the end of season 3.

David Harbour has said that season 4 would reveal Hopper’s backstory. So with his backstory and what happens with him in Russia, you can expect season 4 to be revolved around Hopper.

Obviously the kids will be heavily involved as well, with two major questions that need to be answered. First, will Eleven get her powers back? How will she get them back? Second, where are the Byers and Eleven move to? How will Hawkins be without Eleven?

My personal opinion is that season 5 should and will be the last season of the series. As a fan of the show, I wish it would go on for another 10 seasons, but the last thing we want is for Stranger Things to get watered down in any fashion. The Duffer brothers have done a great job with 8 to 9 episodes a season and having every episode with us on the edge of our seats.

That’s what makes the show so great.

One of the best things about the show is the fact that kids are the main source of beating these monsters that invade Hawkins. It gives us a Goonies vibe that we all love. With the kids getting older, we can’t expect the show to go on for much longer. Which is why there are so many rumors of season 4 being the final season.

But with everything we know and the numbers season 4 will produce, I believe we will get at least 5 seasons of Stranger Things.

As stated at the beginning of this post, production of season 4 has been halted since March and there is no time table on when it will start again.

Stranger Things season 4 was set to release in early 2021 but that date is in jeopardy due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stay tuned as we will share more information on Stranger Things season 4 as soon as we know something!
