Eurovision Song Contest: Netflix releases amazing new teaser video
By Renee Hansen
Eurovision Song Contest is an over the top comedy coming to Netflix in June.
Netflix has been giving us its A-game during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was like they could see the future and knew we needed a variety of new and original content to keep us entertained during this time. Next on their list of big new releases is Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga coming June 26.
This comedy comes along a great time for fans of the Eurovision Song Contest. The movie is fictional, but it is based on the actual contest. The real competition was to be held on May 16 in Rotterdam, but like many events, had to postpone until 2021. This is the first time the contest has had to cancel since its first event in 1956.
The Netflix comedy stars Will Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Dan Stevens, Pierce Brosnan, and Demi Lovato. Set in 1972, Farrell and McAdams play aspiring Icelandic musicians, Lars and Sigrit, who are selected to represent their county at the popular song contest.

The video is artistically and dramatically filmed showing off what we can expect from this film. With the over the top costumes, the dual keyboards, and the outstanding lyrics “Volcano Man. He’s got my melting heart. Volcanic Protector Man. A timeless hero must love too,” it looks like this will be a great comedy to view during this crazy time we find ourselves in.
Lovato is also scheduled to sing a song entitled “In The Mirror.”
The film is directed by David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) and co-written by Ferrell and Andrew Steele. In the past, Ferrell has written Step Brothers, Talladega Nights, and the Anchorman films, so it will be interesting to see if this film follows the zany, crazy, vein of those films.
