Outer Banks, Riverdale and more Netflix shows to watch May 16-17

It’s been a great run for new Netflix shows! There have been some stellar new shows released this spring.

To help you find a new show to watch this weekend (May 16-17), we listed five good Netflix shows recently added to the streaming service.

Some of them are some big new releases, so you’ve probably heard of them. Others are a little less well known right now, but they’ll be hits shortly!

Riverdale season 4

Riverdale season 4 was added to Netflix on Thursday, May 14, after the season finale aired on The CW on Wednesday, May 8.

Unfortunately, Riverdale was forced to end the fourth season a little early because of the coronavirus pandemic. We only saw 19 of the season’s 22 episodes, but don’t worry, those three episodes will lead Riverdale season 5 when it comes back.

And, that leads us to more bad news. Riverdale season 5 has been delayed until 2021 because of the pandemic. That means it’s going to be a while until the Riverdale season 5 Netflix release date.

The first four seasons are now streaming on Netflix!

Dead to Me season 2

Dead to Me returned with its second season on May 8, and it’s really, really good.

Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini are outstanding in the new season, but they are really in some hot water after the end of the first season. A familiar face also pops up in the new season, but everything isn’t quite as it seems.

We’re hoping to see Dead to Me season 3 in the near future!

If you haven’t seen this Netflix original series yet, watch this weekend and you won’t regret it.

Outer Banks

If you like teen shows, Outer Banks is the new show for you!

The Netflix original series premiered on the streaming service in April, and it’s already one of the most popular shows in the world right now. It’s still popping up on the Netflix Top 10 lists several weeks later.

The series tells the story of a group of four friends who live on the wrong side of the island community of Outer Banks. The friends quickly get swept up in a hunt for treasure from a shipwreck off the coast.

This is one of my favorite new Netflix shows, and I can’t wait for Outer Banks season 2!

Hollywood is one of Netflix’s best limited series to date. Created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, Hollywood premiered on Netflix on May 1.

The Netflix original series tells the fictional history of Hollywood’s Golden Age, right after World War II. It focuses on several individuals trying to live out their dreams of making it big time.

David Corenswet, Jeremy Pope, Darren Criss, Laura Harrier, Dylan McDermott, Jim Parsons, Joe Mantello, Jake Picking, Holland Taylor, Samara Weaving, and Patti LuPone star in the series.

While the show gets a little wonky at times, the cast is incredible. There are so many great performances in the series.

White Lines

White Lines is a show that I’m pretty sure most Netflix viewers haven’t heard of yet, but consider this your warning. White Lines is about to explode!

From the creator Money Heist, Alex Pina, White Lines tells the story of Zoe, a young woman who travels to Ibiza to investigate the death of her brother, a DJ, who had been missing for two decades.

Look, most shows don’t start out with a hook like that.

This show is a A LOT, but it’s the perfect show to watch right now. It’s full of that soapy drama that many Netflix viewers love.
