The Big Flower Fight: Amateur gardeners compete in new Netflix series

Netflix is adding a new competition show, The Big Flower Fight, and it involves amateur gardeners pushing their floral design skills to the limit on May 18.

The Big Flower Fight looks like a fun twist on the competition shows while keeping up the fierce competitive vibe are used to. Netflix has given us some exciting competitions shows like The Great British Bake Off, Nailed It, and Skin Wars.

The Big Flower Fight premieres on Netflix on May 18, 2020.

Now, Netflix is introducing a new show that will take a look at the world of amateur gardeners and their skills to make magnificent floral masterpieces.

Each round will end with a “Best In Bloom” at the top and the “directed to the compost pile” for the losing team, according to a report from Refinery29.

The trailer shows the teams of two and the fun as well as the stress that always comes with these competition type shows.

According to the report, the series will be in 8 parts and hosted by comedians Vic Reeves and Natasia Demetriou. There will be 10 pairs of gardeners who will be issued new challenges each episode, and by the looks of things, these aren’t your mother’s floral arrangements.

The gardening pairs hail from all over the globe, the United Kingdom, Ireland, The United States, Denmark, and the Netherlands. You can read short bios for each of the teams on Tom and Lorenzo’s page. 

Kristen Griffith-VanderYacht, celebrity florist, will judge the competition and will be joined by many guest judges who will assist in deciding who gets the “Best In Bloom.”

This show will push the boundaries of floral arranging or, better yet, floral sculpting to the limits. When viewing the trailer, it is hard to remember that these masterpieces are made of flowers!

The champions of the contest will have the privilege of their sculpture being displayed in London’s Royal Botanic Gardens.
