The penultimate episode of How to Get Away with Murder season 6 displayed everything that’s so great about the show. But some moments simply outdid all the others.

Remember last week when we all thought How to Get Away with Murder couldn’t get any crazier?

Well, it looks like we were wrong because this week’s episode was bananas! It was bound to be filled with drama due to Annalise’s trial starting, but that wasn’t even the half of it.

Here are the top 5 WTF moments from How to Get Away with Murder season 6, episode 14:

1. Laurel’s back

Based on the preview from last week, we knew Laurel was finally back on the show, but we didn’t know she’d be testifying against Annalise. Turns out, she made a deal with the FBI just like Connor and Michaela. She’s willing to lie on the stand to ensure she can stay with her son.

Throughout the episode, both Frank and Annalise try to convince her to tell the truth but to no avail. While she wants to be a good person, she wants her son more. That is, until she takes the stand.

2. Laurel on the stand

At first, Laurel says almost exactly what both Michaela and Connor stated when they took that stand to testify. She says Wes killed Sam for Annalise because Annalise and Wes were sleeping together and that when Annalise arrived at the house, she told them to help Wes clean up the body.

It looks like she’s going with FBI’s made up story, until, all of sudden, she breaks. She immediately admits in front of the whole courtroom  everything she stated previously was a lie and that because the FBI coerced her into testifying, her deal is null and void so she won’t be going to jail for telling the truth.

On any other show, this moment would’ve been hard to pull off, but Karla Souza, who plays Laurel, did it effortlessly. It was a huge scene and one of the best of the episode.

3. Nate’s manipulation

Nate didn’t appear a lot in this episode but when he did, he made an impact. No scene shows that more than when the news breaks that Xavier Castillo is dead. Nate shows the news article to Xavier’s father, Jorge, when he visits him in jail and tells him that Governor Birkhead was responsible for his son’s death.

Why did he do this? Because he wants Jorge to testify against the governor and because he wants the people responsible for killing his father to go down. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out and if it actually works in Nate’s favor.

4. Connor’s and Michaela’s Lies

We also learned that Connor and Michaela have been lying about two very different things. While Connor was on the stand, Annalise asked him why he thought  she picked him to be part of the Keating 5. He replied it was because he wrote an essay about closing down a gay conversion camp.

But, as Annalise, reveals, that wasn’t true at all. Annalise made some calls about the camp and as it turns out, it never existed in the first place!

Michaela’s lie was equally shocking. While yelling at Laurel for telling the truth on the stand, Michaela reveals to Connor that in her new deal, she negotiated to not serve any jail time, only probation. He is pissed! Not just because his deal is worse, but because earlier in the episode, she told him she had the same deal as him.

Will this affect the friendship? We’ll have to wait and see.

5. Hannah Keating and Bonnie’s reveal

Through this week’s episode, Annalise was negotiating with Sam’s sister, Hannah, to have her testify for Annalise in her trial. Her first tactic was to use the incest as leverage against Hannah, but Hannah wanted some assurances. She wanted Annalise to sign an NDA and if Annalise wins her trial, she wants her to state publicly that she killed Sam.

Shockingly, Annalise agreed to those terms. Unfortunately,  the deal ended up meaning nothing because at the end of the episode, it’s revealed that Hannah either died by suicide or was murdered.

But who would she be murdered by? At first, Annalise thinks it’s the governor. Bonnie has someone else in mind. Why? Because it looks like she told Frank about his parentage and there’s a possibility he went to Hannah and killed her.

We’ll have to wait until next week to find out all the answers and because it’s the series finale, it’s bound to be epic.

How to Get Away with Murder airs on Thursdays at 10 p.m. on ABC.
