Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now streaming on Disney Plus as of Monday, May 4. Happy Star Wars Day! May the Fourth be with you!

If you’ve waited all these months to see the final film of the nine-film Star Wars Saga, you can streaming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on Disney Plus right now!

The Rise of Skywalker was added to Disney Plus on Monday, May 4, which is officially known as Star Wars Day around the world.

The film premiered in theaters on Dec. 20, 2019, and it was a huge hit around the world, although it received mixed reviews from fans and critics.

We were expecting to see The Rise of Skywalker on Disney Plus sometime this summer, likely around June or July. Typically, it takes about seven or eight months for new Star Wars and Disney  movies to hit streaming services like Netflix, in the past, and Disney Plus.

The Rise of Skywalker was released on Digital HD on March 17, and the film was released on Blu-ray and 4K on March 31.

Usually, there’s a bigger gap between the home video release and the Disney Plus release for these new movies. With everything going on in the world, it made sense for Disney to move up the release date on the streaming service to May 4. There’s no doubt the film will be one of the most-watched movies in America this week.

After the events of The Last Jedi, Rey and the Resistance make their last stand against the First Order and, yes, Emperor Palpatine, who is somehow not dead after all these years!

Overall, I didn’t love The Rise of Skywalker. It had some great moments, but the story seemed to go off the rails at times. I’m still going to watch The Rise of Skywalker again today, along with a bunch of other Star Wars content on Disney Plus.

With the addition of the final film, the full, nine-film series is now available to stream on Disney Plus.

You can also watch Clone Wars, the animated series, The Mandalorian, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and more on Disney Plus right now, as well. Disney Plus also just added a new documentary about The Mandalorian, titled Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian.
