There are a lot of great new Netflix shows you can stream in May, including the debut seasons of Hollywood and Space Force, starring Steve Carell.

The month of April unleashed a great lineup of movies and TV shows for Netflix subscribers to enjoy. It all came at the perfect time, too, as the majority of the world continues to practice social distancing and depending on the streaming titan for entertainment.

Will May 2020 feature equally amazing content? The list of what’s new on Netflix in May is loaded with great titles. The second season of Netflix’s hit black comedy Dead to Me finally premiering, and we can’t wait to binge-watch it as quickly as we did the first season.

5. Hollywood

  • Release Date: May 1

The premiere of Hollywood is especially exciting because this limited series will mark Ryan Murphy’s big Netflix debut! The American Horror Story creator and Ian Brennan have teamed up to give us Hollywood, a series that follows a group of aspiring actors and filmmakers in a post-World War II Hollywood, California. The cast includes David Corenswet, Darren Criss, Jeremy Pope, Samara Weaving, Dylan McDermott, and many others. It’s a talented bunch. From all shows on the list, we can safely say we are looking forward to this one the most. Grab your director’s chair, popcorn, and stream the drama series on May 1.

4. Into the Night

  • Release Date: May 1

Apocalyptic, sci-fi dramas seem to be all the rage lately. If this is what your entertainment needs crave, you’ll love Into the Night. Based on the Polish sci-fi novel, “The Old Axolotl,” by Jacek Dukaj. The thriller, which premieres May 1, follows a group of passengers who land after an overnight flight out of Brussels to discover that everyone is dead. Inexplicably, the sun appears to have killed everything it touched. But is the group of survivors as lucky as they believe? Even if they continue surviving the sun, they’ll also need to survive each other.

3. White Lines

  • Release Date: May 15

On May 15, from the creator of Money Heist comes the Spanish-British mystery thriller, White Lines. The series focuses on the mystery of a famous Manchester DJ’s disappearance from Ibiza. Desperate for answers, his sister visits the island to investigate what happened. But she finds more problems than answers.

2. Control Z

  • Release Date: May 22

At a school ruled by the popular and rich, a hacker releases many student’s most private and intimate moments and secrets to shake up the social order. The formerly bullied now have the upper hand as popular kids are humiliated. But the hacker isn’t finished just yet as he (or she) threatens to reveal even more. Sofia takes it upon herself to find out who is behind all this.   • Release Date: May 29

I know Space Force is one series that has been at the top of our list since we first learned about it! It stars Steve Carell as Mark R. Naird, a decorated pilot who wishes to run the Air Force one day. But there’s a newly formed branch of the US Armed Forces that is calling his name, the Space Force, and he is assigned to lead. Will he achieve space dominance? Will this be The Office, but in space? Make time to binge-watch this one on May  29.
