In the Life of Leia
The infamous princess herself already has her own comic book, so why not give her a whole streaming series as well? Leia is a princess after all. Though, this is mostly for our benefit as one of the many Star Wars stories we want to see on Disney Plus.
The 2015 five-issue miniseries Star Wars: Princess Leia, written by Mark Waid, takes place after A New Hope, with Leia taking much warranted time to mourn the loss of the entire planet of Alderaan and her adoptive family, Queen Breha and Bail Organa. But we’re thinking about a show that deviates from the comic, and talks more about the early years of the young princess before she was captured by Vader.
Being the adoptive daughter of a founding member of the Rebel Alliance, it seems a little unfair that we’d get an inside look into Luke’s life as a farmer’s son on the planet of Tatooine, but the first time audiences meet Leia her entire childhood gets blown into oblivion. There are so many things we want to know.
Did Leia always have a strong taste for politics (like her mother) early on, or was that born out of necessity when Vader enacted is galaxy-wide terror? Did the princess’ parents notice Leia’s connection to The Force right away and struggle to keep her true origins a secret?
For all the hopeless romantics out there, we’d love to know if Han Solo was Leia’s first love, or if there was a young fling long before? There’s definitely enough content for a full season of streaming.
