Infinities

We’ve come to the end of our list of Star Wars stories we want to see on Disney Plus and, if we’re being honest, not all of us are sick of the idea of continuing the Skywalker stories. What’s more, we’re also not opposed to tackling an alternate universe where the events that took place between A New Hope and Return of the Jedi aren’t always what they seem, or never even happened.

A comic series called Star Wars: Infinities addressed this idea and was divided into three parts for each of the three episodes in the original film trilogy. Each part consists of four main comic issues and each of the four stories delves into what might have happened if the events of the films had gone differently.

The first issue of Star Wars Infinities: A New Hope, for example, begins the series by exploring what might have happened if Luke missed his target and never actually destroyed the Death Star. Luke sinks into complete madness, Leia goes to the Dark Side, Master Yoda comes out of hiding and, here’s another kicker, Vader isn’t the one that reveals he’s Luke and Leia’s father.

This would be, by far, the most difficult Star Wars TV series to compose for the main reason that all the main characters of these films are many years past what they were when the films originally came out. But, since this takes place in an alternate universe, maybe new actors wouldn’t be such a jarring thought. It might be though to pull off, but there’s to arguing that a Dark Horse version of the Star Wars saga would be mind-bending.
