Dooku in Blue
Count Dooku is first introduced as a devoted member of Darth Sidious and the Dark Side of The Force. But, like so many Star Wars films, there was some crucial information that was left out of Dooku’s story that gave a little more explanation about his choices to become a Dark Jedi.
It might surprise Star Wars film fans to learn that Dooku was originally on the Jedi council as a loyal member in Episode 1. While we certainly didn’t see him there in the films, making it appear that Dooku was a member of the Dark Side for much longer than he was, it wasn’t until Qui-Gon’s death that the Count was truly tempted by the Dark Side.
Darth Sidious had tried hard to recruit Dooku before to no avail, but after hearing of his former Padawan’s death, Dooku left the Jedi council to join Palpatine, who was also “grieving” the loss of his own pupil Darth Maul.
We’re not saying Disney should combine Count Dooku’s story with Qui Gon’s, but that Dooku, who was trained by Yoda himself after the Count renounced his familial responsibilities, definitely deserves his own spot for Star Wars stories we want to see on Disney Plus.
