Speaking of spotlighting “villains,” let’s lend a binge session to the clones. Even through six seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the show still focuses primarily on the Jedi. But what about the clones themselves? What about their story after the fall of the Republic? Let’s dive into another one of the Star Wars stories we want to see on Disney Plus.

Don’t get us wrong. We all know the man behind the clone mask. When Jango Fett was being cloned in Episode 2, we got a relatively clear picture of who this bounty hunter was and his motivations for allowing himself to be cloned. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that all clones are created equal to their genetic model. On the outside, this army looked exactly like Jango, but was their minds and hearts on the same page as his own?

When the Republic eventually became the Empire, some of these clones might have made a run for it, while others joined Vader. It wouldn’t surprise us at all to learn that most of the clones were brainwashed from their early stages of development but, at their core, they are still human beings with minds meant to function on their own.

It’s possible that, while some clones remained dedicated to the fight against rebels and Jedi, others escaped and went off to live in hiding and have families. A show that contrasts the two outcomes might be the emotional roller coaster we never knew we needed.
