Coffee & Kareem on Netflix: Why you should watch
By Sandy C.
If you are searching for a quick escape from the world, dive into the life of James Coffee! Here’s why you should watch Coffee and Kareem, now streaming on Netflix.
After what felt like an eternity, the month of March is finally over! Even though the world continues to practice social distancing and isolation during these tough times, a new month gives us new things to look forward to.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel, my friends, and until we get there, there are plenty of new movies and TV shows streaming on Netflix to keep you busy and entertained! One of these movies is Coffee & Kareem, starring Ed Helms, Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Little Gardenhigh.
Being completely honest, this movie won’t blow you away. You may not even enjoy it as much as Good Boys, which is one of the best comedies of 2019. However, entertain you it will! Coffee & Kareem isn’t your average buddy cop movie. Sure, it has the same idea and does give audiences Good Boys vibes because of Gardenhigh but it is its own movie and holds its own just fine.
For starters, Gardenhigh is hilarious and easily the stand out here. The young actor is a force and clearly having a blast working with the cast. You may recognize Gardenhigh as Miles from Danger Force, great things are ahead for this kid! This isn’t to say Helms isn’t as wonderful, when isn’t he? But Gardenhigh definitely steals the spotlight here.

Coffee & Kareem follows Coffee (Helms) and Kareem (Gardenhigh) as they go on the run from a group of criminals and corrupt cops after Coffee and Kareem are framed for murder. I know, the plot seems wild, and it is! All the more reason to watch. So how did the unlikely duo get into this mess?
Coffee is dating Kareem’s mother Vanessa (Henson), and he’s not a fan. Kareem seeks out a group of thugs to ask them to scare Coffee away. Let’s just say it doesn’t go as planned.
Watch Coffee and Kareem for the silly laughs and quick escape from the status of today’s world. The story won’t stick with you after watching as it’s not very memorable, but you’ll be glad you watched, anyway!
