Fans of Locke and Key are excited to hear that the series has been renewed for a second season on Netflix.

Locke and Key is a supernatural horror series on Netflix based on the comic books of the same name. After season one, fans patiently waited to hear if it would be renewed for a second season. Just today, Netflix announced they would be renewing the series. The final episode of the first season gave us an exciting change of events that can easily continue the story of the Locke family.

Co-showrunners Carlton  Cuse and Meredith Averill were anticipating this renewal and had been prepping scripts even before the renewal was official. Both Cuse and Meredith told Hollywood Reporter they have multiple seasons planned.

Of course, filming is mostly shut down amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is encouraging to know the series will go on. Because of the shutdowns, no release date has been set.

Season one introduced us to the Locke siblings and their mother, who moved into the family home after the mysterious death of their father. Once they settle into the new house, strange things start to happen, and they discover that Keyhouse is full of magical keys that open a whole new world to them.

Of course, as with any magical presence, something evil generally follows, and Locke and Key is no exception to this. A demon is released, and the Locke siblings and their friends must find a way to combat this evil.

The season was exciting and full of twists and turns. It wasn’t your average teenage drama. The characters were believable and drew you into their experiences in a way that you didn’t tire of the portrayal of their teenage lives, as a lot of other teen dramas can do.

If you haven’t check out season one of Locke and Key, you should do it now in preparation for the next season.
