12. Chris D’Elia: No Pain

Release Year: 2020

Starring: Chris D’Elia

Release Date: Tuesday, April 14

Who else has never been more grateful for Netflix’s monthly stand-up comedy special releases? Last month, we were treated to a number of new stand-up gems, and this month will be no different. Taking it one step further, Iliza Shlesinger levels up from her five specials with a sketch comedy series, but there’s still plenty of hourlong specials to laugh with. Namely, Chris D’Elia, a fan-favorite comedian with a huge following, debuts his newest material in No Pain.

The month’s main comedy event, Chris D’Elia: No Pain finds the comedian still managing to get into trouble in spite of his straight-edge lifestyle. D’Elia riffs on growling at babies in public, AirDropping strangers inappropriate photos while flying and letting people in on the threat of sexual assault by dolphins. The hilarious set was recorded at the State Theater in Minneapolis, but we’re lucky enough to watch the jokes and punchlines from the comfort of our own homes.

Chris D’Elia: No Pain follows D’Elia’s two previous Netflix original comedy specials Man on Fire and Incorrigible. D’Elia also recently recurred on the second season of Netflix’s hit drama series You and comedy series Huge in France. His podcast, Congratulations, has gained popularity in tandem with his success as a touring comic. No Pain will bring the escape of laughter we’re looking for this month, whether you’re a fan of his comedy or a first-time watcher. Make sure to check out D’Elia’s latest stand-up comedy special when it premieres on April 14.
