Marvel Comics story: Cable and Deadpool

Cable and Deadpool have the weirdest friendship in comic books. In Deadpool’s first appearance (New Mutants No. 98) he was trying to kill Cable and his young team of mutant heroes. Fast forward to Deadpool No. 22 (1997) and the two had their first talk as peers. They left having a different view of each other. Skip ahead to the first Cable and Deadpool comic (2007). This started with them (again) as enemies and ends with them becoming the best of friends. More than that, they became better people because of their relationship.

Cable and Deadpool is full of action, good jokes (some really bad ones), and moments that you wouldn’t expect from either character. Cable started to realize his true potential and was close to making the world a better place. Deadpool stopped becoming a remorseless killer and slowly turned into the hero he wanted to be.

There were a plethora of ups and downs throughout the series, but that’s what made it worth it. Seeing this come to life would be a hit. You get all of the Deadpool you wanted. Best of all, this Deadpool doesn’t have to be R-rated. His jokes are just as good without having to drop the F-bomb. We’d also get to see a different side of Cable. One who cares and has a sense of humor.
