10. “No more mutants”
Marvel Comics story: House of M (2005)
The darkest time in the history of the Avengers was when one of their own accidentally destroyed their home and killed some of their teammates. Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) had a nervous breakdown of epic proportions. After everything was over, Magneto took his daughter Wanda to Genosha. He hoped Charles Xavier could help her. Unfortunately, Wanda was getting worse. Before the Avengers and X-Men could reach Genosha, she reshaped the entire universe.
Things were going well. All of her friends got everything they ever wanted. Peter Parker revealed his identity and was accepted. Wolverine got all of his memories back. The biggest change was Magneto. He was ruler of Earth. A world where humans are the minority and mutants rule. That was until she had one last breakdown. With three words (No more mutants) she erased the mutant gene in 90% of the universe.
As much as this would look great in a movie, it works much better in a series. Just like Civil War, there was so much going on. If there are eight issues in this series, then this could last at least eight seasons. Each issue contains so many stories to be told. An eight to ten-episode season would be ideal. For example, Peter Parker and Ms. Marvel becoming the most popular heroes in the world, Wolverine essentially becoming Nick Fury, or Luke Cage starting the Avengers. There’s so much to discuss in House of M. Plus, it leads right into the next potential series.
