11. Atypical

Many fans are missing out on Atypical. Even I have to admit that I didn’t start watching the series until recently. But once I got started, I was quick to binge-watch it all and now I can’t wait for season 4 to premiere.

Unfortunately, season 4 is set to be the final one, but there’s a silver lining here. On the bright side, with production aware that season 4 is the final chapter for the characters of Atypical, they’ll be able to give fans a great ending.

This is always better than when a show abruptly ends. There’s also the fact that, once season 4 airs, you’ll have a complete series available to binge on Netflix. No waiting on new episodes, just dedicate a week or two on Atypical, and done!

Not familiar with the series? No worries, we’ll catch you up.

It’s easy for Atypical to have fallen under your radar with big hits like Lucifer, You and Stranger Things taking over when they drop new episodes. But we also have to show love to the little guys, and Atypical‘s story is severely underrated.

Atypical is a coming-of-age series that follows Sam Gardner taking on daily life struggles. Sam (Keir Gilchrist) is on the autism spectrum. That doesn’t seem to stop Sam from going after what he wants, and when we meet him in season 1, that goal is to find a “sexual romantic” relationship, as he puts it.

The series also follows supporting characters. Sam’s overprotective sister Casey (Brigette Lundy-Paine) and his mother Elsa (Jennifer Jason Leigh) are quite the pair!

Watch Atypical for a fun, well-written dramedy series that doesn’t follow the typical coming-of-age show format.
