South Dakota: Sleepy
This isn’t to say that South Dakota doesn’t have a lot going on, but compared to other places, it’s quieter and not so hectic which makes it perfect for this drowsy dwarf. He can find a house and sleep to his heart’s content. But don’t mistake Sleepy for being lazy. You can’t work in the mines if you’re going to fall asleep every ten seconds. The dude knows how to work hard.
Also, as a someone who works in the mines, maybe he can do something with his pickaxe to make Mount Rushmore into something better. Do we really need the presidents’ faces carved into a rock? I’m sure Sleepy can come up with something better.
Make it into something to do with South Dakota. Or give it back to the Native Americans since it was theirs to begin with! As tired as he is, Sleepy can come up with some good ideas.
South Dakota is also the perfect state for Sleepy because as the fifth least populated state, he doesn’t have to worry about his surroundings being too noisy when he wants to take a nap. New York and California are too loud for him.
And when he’s not sleeping or in the mines, he can help plant crops because apparently, South Dakota’s biggest crop is potatoes! They even have a festival around it. Who knew? Mr. Potato Head might have to visit from Idaho. Sleepy can plant plenty of potato seeds, using his pickaxe to make a hole in the ground.
A dwarf is nothing if not helpful and he could definitely make himself useful to the farmers in the area. Just make sure you check on him every couple of hours. He might doze off.
